What is the difference between a diode laser and IPL for hair removal?

A diode laser emits one narrow wavelength — 808nm on the P-808 — so all of its energy sits where it was aimed. IPL is filtered broadband light, and the MONA ONE filters its output to 650–950nm deliberately, excluding the longer infrared that generates surplus heat. The trade-off is focus against flexibility: the same IPL console also runs skin rejuvenation, pigment and acne work.

Which of these platforms handles darker skin types?

The P-MIX adds 1064nm alongside 755nm and 808nm, and 1064nm is the wavelength that platform is positioned around for darker skin. The HIDL-3000 states coverage across all six Fitzpatrick types at 808nm with 360° contact cooling at minus 16°C. Suitability for any individual patient is a practitioner judgement made at the chair, not a specification, and we will not make it for you.

What consumables do these hair removal platforms need?

The P-808 handpiece carries no shot limit, so its cost per treatment does not climb with volume.
