Comparisons

Five decisions, argued from the specification

Most equipment comparisons are written by whoever is selling the winner. These are not. Each page puts the published specification of two or three platforms in the same table, states plainly where a figure is not published, and ends with the conditions under which each option is the right purchase — including the ones where we are not.

Regulatory clearance is granted per device model, not per company. Every platform's status is stated on its own page and confirmed in writing before purchase. See how clearance works.

Tattoo & Pigment

Picosecond vs Q-switched Nd:YAG for tattoo removal

Both platforms shatter dermal pigment into fragments the body can clear. They disagree on how. The Q-switched platform uses nanosecond pulses and up to 2,500 mJ of energy; the picosecond platform uses pulses a thousand times shorter that fracture pigment mechanically rather than by heating it, capped at 800 mJ. Higher energy or shorter pulse — that is the whole trade, and it is not a ranking.

Hair Removal

808nm diode vs triple wavelength vs SHR/IPL

A diode laser emits one narrow wavelength, so all of its energy lands where it was aimed. IPL is filtered broadband light, which trades that focus for the ability to run several services from one lamp. SHR sits between them: rapid low-energy pulses in motion rather than one high-energy shot. Three platforms, three different answers to the same room.

Laser Resurfacing

Ablative CO₂ vs non-ablative thulium and Er:Glass

Ablative lasers remove tissue at the skin surface. Non-ablative lasers pass through the epidermis and deposit their energy beneath it, leaving the surface intact. The Super Pulse CO₂ Plus is the ablative option and runs fractional, ablative and surgical modes from one console. The thulium and Er:Glass 2-in-1 is non-ablative across both wavelengths and carries no shot limit per procedure.

Body Contouring

HIFEM + RF vs cryolipolysis for body contouring

These two platforms change different tissue, which makes the choice a question about what you are selling rather than which machine is stronger. HIFEM drives supramaximal muscle contractions with monopolar RF heating the fat above. Cryolipolysis only addresses fat, crystallising the triglycerides inside fat cells so they clear through normal metabolism over the following weeks.

How buying works

Buying through a US supplier vs ordering direct overseas

The difference shows up in week two, when you need a part, a protocol, or a person who answers. This page sets out what is inside a USBioLongevity purchase against what a shipment-only overseas order is — line by line, including the cases where a direct order is genuinely the better call. There is no price comparison here because we publish no price list.
